Blue Helium Sky

The Journey Home

Moon light veneer
of the asphalt road
shimmering as I make
the journey home
to the harmony
that I have known.

I'm free now
and glad to leave
the city's insane cries
and steady bleat
of traffic grinding
through the chaos streets.

On this journey home
where I won't be alone
in moon lit arms
warm as healing stones.

Midnight hair
alluring eyes
are what I see
when I think of you
the forest woman
that I'm returning to.

Windows wink light
in the nearby hills
like lamp lit stars
in the dark fir trees –
deep and quiet
for centuries.

On this journey home
where I won't be alone
in moon lit arms
warm as healing stones.
